We are independent advisors to the client. Among other roles, we act as their Energy Project Manager seeing their projects through from concept to completion. We also provide continuous maintenance, measurement, and tracking. CoEng Advisors are committed to staying right next to the client day-in and day-out to ensure our promise is delivered!

A thoroughly vetted portfolio of engineers, contractors, technologies, and financial solutions allows us to cost-effectively deliver turnkey, custom-tailored energy management and retrofit packages - all optimized for the best ROI and lowest risk. The way we ensure this is through proper baselining and measuring of the client’s current energy outlook, and subsequent Monitoring and Targeting (M&T) of the Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) post-implementation.


CoEng Ad‍‍‍visors was founded by John Molnar. As CEO & Director of Engineering, John brings an expertise in energy and mechanical engineering. CoEng has a dedicated team of 10 employees in sales, engineering, and operations. CoEng's highly educated staff hold PhDs, MBAs, and other accreditations from reputable universities such as McMaster, University of Toronto, and University of Guelph.

Our Company was founded on a passion to help building owners and tenants become more sustainable in their operations. Our major focus is on optimizing the client’s energy portfolio as well as efficiency gains in other operational areas such as (but not limited to) water use.

Since incorporating in 2015, we have rapidly carved out a unique position in the energy conservation and demand management sector. Some of our large clients include Milton Hydro, Apotex, Weston Bakery, and Black & McDonald.

With a positive response to our approach in Ontario, we are proud to see growing international interest in our company -- from Panama to Mexico, and United Arab Emirates to India.


John Molnar, P.Eng., LEED AP Founder, CEO, & Director of Engineering

After 10 years in design and sales of leading-edge Heating, Ventilating, and Air-Conditioning/Refrigeration (HVAC/R) Systems, John Molnar founded CoEng Advisors with an aim make a measurable difference in the sustainability of the existing building market. He is a Professional Engineer in Ontario, Past-President of the Hamilton Chapter of ASHRAE, and a LEED Accredited Professional. He has built his reputation through strong ethics in an industry that challenges one’s character every day. John’s guiding compass is ensuring that what is being done is in the best interest of the client.

Joe Molnar, BASc, MBA | Investor, Board Member, Director of Strategic Initiatives

Joe is a graduate of the University of Toronto Engineering Science program and holds an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University. His company, Eastcurve Inc, helps IT leaders transform their IT strategy and operating models, and helps technology companies sell their 3.0 solutions. Prior to founding Eastcurve, Joe held executive positions at Nortel Networks, Xerox, CIBC, Bell Northern Research and the Ontario Centre for Microelectronics. He sits on the University of Toronto Engineering Science Advisory Board, and is Board Vice-chair for Pegasus, a Toronto non profit offering programs for adults with developmental disabilities.

Hassan Qazi  Lead Developer

Hassan is a Waterloo Mechatronics Engineering graduate with 8 years of experience in Industrial Automation, Smart Metering, Semi-Conductor Fabrication, Healthcare (ERP & E-Commerce) and Broadcasting. He enjoys working through daily challenges as well as developing unique solutions to difficult problems. As the Lead Developer, Hassan is responsible for the infrastructure management, applications design, and project management of the CoEng software.

Michael Malinowski Web Developer

Michael is a Life Sciences student studying at the University of Waterloo. At CoEng, he is responsible for maintaining the REA software on both the web and mobile platforms. This entails working as a team with other departments to debug, implement, and test new features. Michael is always excited to tackle new software issue as he thoroughly enjoys problem solving and programming.

Greg Young Manager of Engineering

Greg is a mechanical engineering graduate from the University of Guelph, with a specialization in sustainable & renewable energy. Greg began his career designing custom automation machines and made his desired transition to the energy industry in early February 2017 with CoEng Advisors. Greg now manages the day-to-day engineering operations at CoEng Advisors. He is a member of Association of Energy Engineers (Southern Ontario Chapter), ASHRAE Toronto, and will soon achieve his P.Eng. credentials in late 2019.
